For more than 14 years, the State Line Blues Jam has been a Sunday tradition for blues musicians and music lovers throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin. Hosted by Glenn Davis, the jam became a local institution at Red Dog’s Sandwiches, where countless musicians shared the stage, friendships were formed, and the blues community continued to grow week after week.
While Red Dog’s has closed its doors, the music isn’t stopping. We’re proud to announce that the State Line Blues Jam is entering a new chapter at Doyle’s Pub in Richmond, Illinois. The spirit of the jam remains exactly the same—great musicians, great people, and a welcoming place for anyone who loves live blues. Most importantly, this remains a home for authentic Chicago blues, preserving the sound, style, and tradition that have made the blues a cornerstone of our region’s musical heritage. We’re simply bringing the tradition to a new home and keeping the music alive for future generations of players and fans.
Because the jam takes place on Doyle’s outdoor deck, weather conditions will occasionally affect whether the event can be held as scheduled. This website will be updated every week with the latest jam status, weather information, and any schedule changes. Before heading out on Sunday, be sure to check here for the most current update. The Stateline Blues Forecast Page is a function of the Stateline Blues Charitable Organization, an ad hoc group of music lovers and musicians helping those in need for over 15 years.
Whether you’ve been attending since the beginning or you’re discovering the jam for the first time, we invite you to join us every Sunday at Doyle’s Pub. Bring your instrument, bring your friends, or just bring a chair and enjoy an afternoon of live blues as we continue one of the area’s longest-running blues traditions.
